Frequently Asked Questions

How will Virtual Classes be held?

Our virtual classes will be held on Zoom. You will receive a Zoom link with a password at least 24 hours before class. Use that link to attend the class. Parents are always welcome (and encouraged!) to observe.

What does “donation-based class” mean?

For the first few weeks, we are offering donation-based classes. The value of the class will be listed in the description, but what you choose to donate is ultimately up to you. Whether you choose to pay full-price or custom will be kept confidential. All proceeds will go towards helping those affected by Coronavirus.

How are you upholding safety?

We at Quarantine Coders take the safety of our students very seriously. Only students with a link and password will be able to join our classes. The host of the meeting will not admit anyone into the Zoom room unless their Display Name matches a student name on the list.

Who is teaching the course?

Our camps are taught by volunteer instructors who are either CS Students from top colleges or leading professionals in the tech field.

Who designs the curriculum?

Our curriculum is designed by a team which comprises of graduate students in Computer Science at NYU, professional Software Developers, undergraduate students in Education Studies at NYU and a graduate student in Special Education at the Relay School of Education.

Where do the proceeds go to?

In the interest of transparency, we will be posting receipts from the donations made by Quarantine Coders on our website and all our social media. Here is a list of the charities we are currently working with.

How old does my child have to be to take the class?

Our classes start from 1st grade and go all the way up to 12th grade. We are constantly adding new classes, so if please continue to check back to see if any new ones have opened up!

I can’t make any of the classes listed. Will there be more camps?

Yes! We are working very hard to develop new curriculums and add more classes compatible with different time zones. Have a suggestion? Contact Us!

What is your refund policy?

We understand that life happens sometimes! Our classes are 100% refundable. Want a refund? Contact Us!

How can I help out?

We’re so glad you asked! There are a couple ways you can get more involved.

  • You can apply to volunteer with us as a teacher or curriculum developer.

  • Contact Us if you’re interested in Operations or Marketing Roles.

  • Donate! At the end of the day, we are a fundraising campaign. Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
